2020 is hindsight

This will be a short post, after a long break.

The good news is that I am finally making an income that befits my age, experience, education, work ethic. The bad news is that the hours are long.

This job involves a much-increased physical component, but I find I like the heavy lifting. It makes me feel competent and, more importantly, it means I can still eat what I like (within reason) and lose weight. I am also sleeping better at night because I am worn out.

I mean, it isn’t something like this…

Not that this type of work doesn’t have its benefits. I think of the end of the 1999 film Office Space.

Of course, I am still writing poetry, mostly on my breaks. As for the novelas, two are all but finished but I can’t seem to find the energy when I can find the time. I’ve been thinking about getting a laptop.

The real nail of the coffin here is that I don’t like the new Word Press features, and I don’t have energy or time to figure them out. So this will be the last post with a poem until I do.

Have a great upcoming. I’m excited for the first time in years.

mirror

ruby drops
fingertip
shard of glass
hard to grip.

silver burns
a bent soul
untruth robs
from the whole.

missing parts
will be found
barefoot bleed
sole to ground.

‘twas a gift
me to you
shiny heart
almost new.

what the hell?
what the fuck?
seven years
of bad luck.

Hours I own all of these ideas, but none of these images.
